OH&S AdvisorThis role is an exciting opportunity to establish an OH&S framework in our growing business and create best practice OH&S polices, programs and procedures that can be adhered to on a consistent basis. Working closely with a small and dynamic human resources team this role seeks a strong team player who is flexible and adaptable to function needs. If you are someone who thrives in a changing work environment and enjoys taking the initiative on tasks and projects, have strong leadership skills and influencing abilities to ensure role deliverables are met and a sustainable OH&S culture is embedded longer term then this position could be for you.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Develop and work with line managers and their teams to build and implement OH&S solutions in line with their business needs
- Establish self managed OH&S committees
- Make recommendations and solutions covering specific areas of OH&S including Workers Compensation, accidents and injuries investigation, corrective and preventative measures, organisational facility inspections, while complying with local, state and federal rules and regulations.
- Provide interpretation and counsel to line management regarding OH&S policies, programs and practices
- Research and develop solutions to resolve business issues
- Transition OH&S knowledge and capability across the business through tailored training, maintenance and audit of the systems put in place.
- Create and distil an OH&S culture in all working practices
Applicants must be able to provide: - OH&S/HR formal qualifications (Tertiary level) or demonstrated extensive practical experience
- First Aid Certificate (Desirable)
- 5+ years experience in an OH&S role to date
- In depth knowledge of current OH&S polices, practices and legislative requirements
- Proficient in all MS applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Strong project management experience to date
- Experience in working across a geographically dispersed business
